The name Katy Lewis is one that has certainly left Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) reeling after Frankie Lewis (Rose Ayling-Ellis) revealed the name of her mother after claiming to be his daughter.
Mick was stunned but the name Katy appeared to confirm that Frankie was telling the truth – and Mick has been brooding and distant ever since, telling Frankie that he can’t deal with this.
But who is Katy to Mick and what is their true past?
Who is Katy Lewis?
Katy Lewis is the mother of newcomer Frankie and appears to have had some type of relationship with Mick in the past, which led to the birth of Frankie.
Frankie confirmed that she found a love letter Mick wrote to Katy and Mick confirmed that he now understood why Katy had disappeared.
The mention of his past has caused Mick signifcant distress but he has not confided in wife Linda (Kellie Bright).
Who plays her?
It has not been confirmed that we will meet Katy or who will play her but many believe that new casting, former Bad Girls star, Simone Lahbib will take on the role.
On joining EastEnders, Simone Lahbib said: ‘I’m thrilled to be joining EastEnders. I can’t say too much about who I am playing just yet, but it’s fair to say that she is set to have a lasting impact on the Carters and will test their strength as a family.’
Jon Sen, Executive Producer EastEnders added: ‘We’re delighted to welcome Simone to Walford. Her character’s links to the Carter family will form part of an important new storyline for Mick in particular. It’s a story that we look forward to sharing with the audience – with its impact on the Carters set to be everlasting.’
EastEnders are yet to say who Simone will play officially.
What happens next?
Tonight, Frankie will discover the truth about Mick’s relationship with Katy and it’s clear there will be ramifications.
Viewers have speculated that given Mick and Linda’s history of not cheating, there is more to this and with Frankie’s age unknown, 42-year-old Mick may have been abused as a child.
