INTERNET sleuths have wildly claimed that Gabby Petito was “throttled with human force” after “fighting” with her fiancé Brian Laundrie at a restaurant.
Coroners revealed that the vlogger’s cause of death was “manual strangulation" at a press conference held in Wyoming on Tuesday.
Gabby's remains were found on September 19 – a week after she was reported missing by her parents.
A tourist claimed she spotted Gabby and her fiancé on August 27 at the Tex-Mex restaurant Merry Piglets in Jackson Hole, Wyoming – the last day the vlogger is believed to have last been seen alive.
Nina Celie Angelo, of New Orleans, alleged she watched Laundrie arguing with a waitress.
While she said she couldn't hear what words were being exchanged between Laundrie and the woman, she believed the spat was either over the bill or about money.
Angelo described Laundrie's body language as "aggressive", alleging that he left and returned to the restaurant around four times.
She claimed that at one point Gabby came inside and apologized for her fiancé's behavior.
Internet sleuths claimed the date of the incident at the restaurant "matched" the timeline announced by Teton County Coroner Dr. Brent Blue.
Blue revealed that the vlogger's predicted death was three to four weeks before her body was found. Her body was outside "in the wilderness" for this time.
One sleuth said: “I think the scene at the restaurant escalated after they left and he killed her.”
There is no evidence to support these claims as the date of Gabby’s death remains unknown.
Sleuths also claim August 27 was the day that Gabby’s mom Nichole Schmidt appeared to receive a text containing the word “Stan”.
A message from Gabby's phone read: "Can you help Stan, I just keep getting his voicemails and missed calls."
Internet sleuths claim “Stan” is a codeword for danger.
Gabby's grandfather is called Stan – and it appears she is talking about him.
The vlogger's mom Nichole Schmidt said she rarely called him by that name and admitted that she found the text "odd".
Social media users wildly claimed Stan is a reference to the Eminem song in which a male partner tied up his pregnant girlfriend before killing her.
Coroners revealed that Gabby died from strangulation.
Brent Blue told CNN: “Throttling means that someone was strangled by human force. There was no mechanical force involved.
“There is no evidence that this was done by any animal as far as the cause of death.”
Blue confirmed that YouTuber was not pregnant at the time of her death.
He added that a toxicology report was unable to be released at this time.
Dr Blue declined to say more about the autopsy or the case overall, saying he was prevented by Wyoming law that limits what coroners can release.
Following the results of the autopsy, Laundrie's family attorney, Steve Bertolino, released a statement saying: "Gabby Petito’s death at such a young age is a tragedy.
"While Brian Laundrie is currently charged with the unauthorized use of a debit card belonging to Gabby, Brian is only considered a person of interest in relation to Gabby Petito’s demise.
"At this time Brian is still missing and when he is located we will address the pending fraud charge against him."
However, Gabby's mom, Nichole Schmidt, slammed the comment, fuming: "His words are garbage. Keep talking."
Shortly before the press conference, a private investigator claimed that Gabby may have been strangled to death based on her body language in police bodycam footage.
In an interview with Fox News, Jason Jensen claimed: "I wouldn’t be surprised that it’s manual strangulation.
"Any victim that’s been choked before – their natural reaction is to lower their chin to their clavicle to prevent that hand from going around their throat."
Harrowing footage, first released last month, shows a tearful Gabby recalling a clash that she and Brian Laundrie had outside the Moonflower Cafe.
'HE GRABBED ME'
She said that their morning had been “stressful” and explained to cops that she had been apologizing to her fiancé for her OCD.
Gabby alleged that Laundrie had grabbed her face, left a “burning” gash on her cheek and red marks on her arm as cops notice some bruises.
She told cops: "Well, he like grabbed me, like, with his nail, and I guess that's why it hurts. I definitely have a cut. Like, I can feel it."
Gabby alleged that Laundrie had told her to shut up as she appeared to admit that she hit him first.
Weeks after the “incident” in Utah, Gabby was reported missing by her family on September 11 and her remains were found weeks later.
Days before Gabby’s body was found, Laundrie was named a person of interest by cops after they accused him of hindering the investigation.
He was reported missing on September 17 after allegedly telling his parents Chris and Roberta that he was going for a hike in the Carlton Reserve.
Laundrie remains at large as search efforts near one month.
