It is believed that the Royal Family are on a 'war footing' as Prince Harry's explosive new memoir nears its release.

Such is their anticipation of the backlash that is set to come as a result of the Duke of Sussex's new book Royal advisers have set up a 'war-room' it has been claimed.

The launch of the new book will come after interviews with the Prince air on CBS, ITV and 'The Late Show' over the coming days, all of which have prompted the royals' decision.

A highly placed insider told Page Six: “There were undoubtedly fears about what Harry was going to write, and in particular they were worried about the highly personal moments of their lives being retold."

“The King wanted to move ahead with the traditional ‘stiff upper lip’ attitude and follow in the Queen’s famous footsteps of ‘never complain, never explain’, but the Prince of Wales argued that perhaps the family should, in fact, go on the offensive and release a statement, much in the same way he said ‘We are very much not a racist family’, but he was overruled by his father.”

Some of Harry's claims in Spare have already come to light after an accidental early release of the memoir in Spain.

One of which is that William was allegedly involved in a fight with his brother ending Harry being knocked into a dog over a fight about Meghan Markle.

Prince Harry's memoir is set for release in the UK on Tuesday next week (10 January).
