A loyal dog was pictured staying with his female friend after she had been run over and left in a muddy puddle.
The two pooches were spotted on the side of a road after a storm hit the City of Sorocoba in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Lukas Marangoni, who found the pups, wrote that the male was keeping a watch on the injured female dog.
The male was sitting next to his wounded pal who was lying in a muddy puddle next to a fallen tree.

Marangoni wrote on social media: “Is there anyone close to the Wannel Ville area who can help these little dogs – I don’t know what happened but one is injured and the other is looking after it.”
Sorocoba resident Eric Barreto had been the one to look after the dogs until proper help could arrive.
He said: “They were in the rain. The female had its hind legs broken and the other one was fine and was looking after it.
“They didn’t let us get too close.”
The poor pup had been hit by a car and was treated for its injuries at a surgery in nearby Mairinique, where she still remains.
A not-profit organisation called Ampara Group For Man’s Best Friend (GAMAH) have said they will raise the money needed to pay for her treatment.
The male pooch is healthy and will be neutered before being put up for adoption.
The shelter looks after 73 animals, including 53 dogs and 21 cats which are all available for adoption.
