Oprah's interview with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle was hailed as the television moment that was set to rival Princess Diana's monumental 1995 interview with Martin Bashir and it certainly didn't disappoint.

Over a week has passed since the interview was broadcast in the UK on ITV but the ripple effects continue.

The interview was seen by Harry and Meghan as their chance to put things right and tell their side of the story.

During the two-hour interview, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex divulged accusations of racism within the Royal Family and explained their version of the truth behind the tears.

One Royal expert has said that Harry effectively has put a ‘put a bomb under' his brother Prince William's future.

Royal expert and biographer Penny Junor told the Telegraph: “At the moment Harry seems to have taken ownership of the whole story. He is calling the shots on what this family is all about and invoking Diana.

"But what he’s actually done is effectively put a bomb under William’s future. He’s done such damage to his family.”

Penny Junor also told the Telegraph: "We know how determined William can be and Harry and Meghan have not only trashed his wife but accused the Royal family of racism.

"It’s the most damaging thing that anyone could say [about] anyone else. It is hard to see how they come back from this."

US breakfast show host and friend of Megan has confirmed Harry has spoken to both Prince William and Prince Charles but the talks were were "not productive", and Meghan has not been approached by any of the royals yet.

Gayle King, also a close friend of Oprah, told CBS on Tuesday (March 16): "I'm not trying to break news, but I did actually call them to see how they were feeling and it's true Harry has talked to his brother and he has talked to his father too.

"The word I was given was that those conversations were not productive but they are glad that they have at least started a conversation.

"And I think what is still upsetting to them is that the Palace keeps saying they want to work it out privately, but yet they believe these false stories are coming out that are very disparaging against Meghan still – no one in the Royal Family has talked to Meghan yet…"
