About 9:45 a.m. Monday a two-vehicle crash on westbound Interstate 76 killed a 35-year-old man after he was ejected from his car.
The 35-year-old Westminster man, driving a 2006 Honda sudan, was going at a faster speed behind a Chevy pickup with a 60-year-old man driving and a 57-year-old female passenger, both from Iowa.
The Honda did not reduce speed when the Chevy began to slow down and rear-ended the pickup. The 35-year old man lost control of the car, which rolled and ejected him.
The Colorado State Patrol reported he was not wearing a seatbelt and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Drug use, alcohol and speed are being considered as factors in this case.
